Making Search Engine Optimisation work

The Academy wing of World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) South Asia, has organised a workshop on Search Engine Optimisation Techniques for Online Editors, Social Media Executives, Web Developers and Product Managers at Holiday Inn, Aero City Hospitality District, New Delhi. The two-day workshop will conclude on January 24, 2018.

Maryem Nasri, the lead trainer of the workshop is an individual digital marketing consultant. She has been working with online content since 1998, and with SEO since 2008. She served as the Project Manager for the implementation of SEO strategies at the Swedish Media House AllerMedia (the magazines Elle, Chic now Baam, Svensk Dam, Café, Femina, Fiskejournalen and Jaktjournalen). As a consultant, she managed the project to optimize their seven largest magazines for search engines and trained their web editors in SEO writing.

She also worked with both developers and content managers for Nudie Jeans, Swedish Scouts for few SEO projects.

SEO is a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in organic (non-paid) search engine results. SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines.

SEO isn't just about building search engine-friendly websites. It's about making your site better for people too.

This workshop discussed the principles and working of search engines, users and utilisation of search engines, editorial SEO, categories and tags for publishing houses and relaunching of SEO for better content delivery to focused target audiences.

On day two, the programme will discuss analytics, social media and audience growth. It will cover how to set up google analytics, target group analysis, Differences between SEO and SMO and growth hacking.
