OneWorld – Dream a Dream Media Fellows on Life Skills announced

Five journalists bag the OneWorld – Dream a Dream Media Fellowships on Life Skills – 2018. The winners include Smita Ramanathan for producing radio programmes for Women’s International News Gathering Services; Sulekha Nair of Firstpost; Prachi Raturi Misra of The Times of India and enewsdesk.in; Parul and Aparna Ramalingam for writing for IANS and The News Minute, respectively.

Selected fellows are required to either produce three radio programmes or write five articles over five months on the theme of life skills. Each selected fellow would receive Rs 1 lakh, which is inclusive of stipend and travel expenses.

The fellows were selected by an eminent jury comprising K. G. Suresh, Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communications; K.S. Sachidananda Murthy, Resident Editor, The Week & Malayalam Manorama; Nivedita Mookerji, Resident Editor, Business Standard; Pervin Varma, Former CEO, Child Rights & You (CRY); Gulan Kripalani, Development Communications Expert & Film-maker; Tarun Cherukuri, CEO, Indus Action, and Rajiv Tikoo, Managing Director, OneWorld Foundation India (OneWorld).

The OneWorld-Dream a Dream Media Fellowship on Life Skills initiative is being managed by OneWorld in partnership with Dream a Dream, a charitable trust, which works to empower young people from vulnerable backgrounds to overcome adversity and flourish in a fast-changing world using a creative life skills approach. OneWorld is an ICT4D organisation, which specialises in knowledge management, including managing media fellowships.
